Privacy Policy for GeoMask
Effective Date: July 20, 2026
Developer: pogruf (by.pogruf.geomask)
1. Overview
GeoMask (“the Application”) is a highly specialized location privacy guard and wireless environment security audit utility. The Application is explicitly designed to empower users to shield their real-world location telemetry from intrusive background trackers, analyze spatial system configurations, prevent data leaks via background network scans, and assist mobile developers in evaluating location-aware software inside a strictly controlled, customizable mock environment.
2. Advanced Features and Core Functionality
To provide its comprehensive privacy guard and security audit mechanisms, the Application contains and operates the following features:
- Manual Coordinate Input: Allows users to define custom, static geographic parameters (Latitude and Longitude) to replace local telemetry.
- Address Geocoding: Integrates a localized geocoding engine allowing users to input plaintext spatial addresses, which are automatically translated into precise geographic coordinates locally on the device.
- Global Country Polygons: Includes built-in coordinate matrices for global land and water testing polygons, allowing immediate spatial teleportation emulation.
- Cellular Metadata Emulation: Simulates vital mobile operator parameters, including Mobile Country Codes (MCC) and Mobile Network Codes (MNC), to analyze how device software behaves under variable cellular network layers.
- Dynamic Chaos Engine: Operates an automated fluctuating loop module that shifts simulated positions and carrier metadata automatically, introducing a defensive layer of structured data noise against automated background profiling scripts.
3. Core Android Permissions and Technical Access
To execute its privacy shielding mechanisms, the Application requires explicit authorization for several critical Android security permissions. We strictly document their usage as follows:
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required to safely intercept, analyze, and substitute geographic signals with the virtual profiles configured by the user.
- ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION: Essential to maintain a consistent privacy shield and protect your positioning telemetry even when the Application is closed, the device screen is locked, or another software runs on the screen.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE: Utilized to run a continuous background protection guard thread. A permanent, non-dismissible notification is displayed in the system status bar ensuring complete user awareness that the Application’s active masking and configuration synchronization engine are running.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (Autostart Mechanism): Allows the security module to register within the system boot sequence. Utilizing hardware-encrypted Device Protected Storage (Direct Boot Aware) configurations, GeoMask launches immediately upon system startup, defending your privacy before the user pin-code or pattern screen is even unlocked.
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: Grants the Application immunity from aggressive system power-saving policies (Doze Mode), protecting the active location guard from unexpected background termination by vendor-specific task killers.
- ACCESS_MOCK_LOCATION: Requires the user to manually select GeoMask as the active Mock Location App inside the Android system Developer Options to permit secure geographic parameter injection into the fused location provider layer.
4. Local Data Architecture and Strict Offline Processing
- No Data Harvesting: The Application does not collect, monitor, profile, aggregate, or store your real or simulated location data.
- 100% Offline Processing: All geographic calculations, geocoding actions, configuration switches, and simulation states are computed strictly locally on your physical machine.
- Secure Local Storage: Active application states, selected countries, customized addresses, and geographic coordinates are stored entirely on the device via local, encrypted SharedPreferences. The Application contains no background telemetry components and possesses no permissions to transmit your data to any remote servers, cloud platforms, or third-party analytic networks.
5. Third-Party Libraries and Trackers
The Application features an absolute zero-advertisement layout, contains no hidden analytic SDKs, and utilizes no external tracking networks. No user behavior or location data is shared with or leaked to third parties.
6. User Control and Consent
By completing the interactive 6-step onboarding setup wizard, granting the required runtime permissions, and authorizing GeoMask in your system Developer Options, you explicitly agree to the local processing of location parameters as described in this policy. You can modify your configurations, toggle the autostart feature, or completely revoke permissions at any moment via standard Android system settings.
